-&lt;and the \u2013 signs. \u00a0Easy enough<\/p>\n<p data-adtags-visited=\"true\">\u2013 GND<\/p>\n<p data-adtags-visited=\"true\">-&gt; RX<\/p>\n<p data-adtags-visited=\"true\">&lt;- TX<\/p>\n<p data-adtags-visited=\"true\">On the TTL (Arduino) \u00a0side \u2013 <strong>DO NOT USE 5V use 3.3V<\/strong> as this toasts the device\u00a0and heats up and like tops itself. \u00a0It certainly got very toasty when I put 5V across it.\u00a0 This could be because I messed up somewhere in the wiring but it certainly works well for me.\u00a0 I can also use the SoftwareSerial library as well so I don\u2019t need to use TX\/RX on the TTL Serial pins 0 and 1<\/p>\n<p data-adtags-visited=\"true\">So TTL is<\/p>\n<p data-adtags-visited=\"true\">\u2013 GND<\/p>\n<p data-adtags-visited=\"true\">-&gt; \u2013 PIN X<\/p>\n<p data-adtags-visited=\"true\">&lt;- PIN Y<\/p>\n<p data-adtags-visited=\"true\">For my device I used PIN 0 and PIN 1 \u2013 TX\/RX \u2013 but I guess you can use other pins.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_288\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\" data-shortcode=\"caption\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-288\"><a class=\"fix-link-focus\" href=\"https:\/\/daverobertson63.files.wordpress.com\/2013\/06\/arduino_rs232.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-288\" style=\"border: 0px;
