Today, 26 May 2016, i have updated the set of firmware images for Openwrt & APRX.
Both for 15.05 as well as Trunk.
Let me know if you need it compiled for another platform.

Openwrt & APRX build environment
For those who compile Openwork & APRX themselves here a few pointers, in case you run into specific errors.
With special thanks to Wladimir, EW8BAK.
If the error indicates that you have certain ax25 files not available, solve this as follows:
Install libax25-dev (sudo apt-get install libax25-dev)
Now copy the directory /usr/include/netax25 to the openwrt/staging_dir/target-mipsel_mips32_musl-1.1.14/usr/include directory
Next find sockaddr.h and copy the whole directory in which sockaddr.h resides (named bits) also to openwrt/staging_dir/target-mipsel_mips32_musl-1.1.14/usr/include.
Now Openwork should compile, or if you just want to compile aprx, do
make package/aprx/compile -j1 V=s
Your own server on the internet ?
I run a couple of services, such as a Tier2 server, a website and a vpn server on a micro server, called lowendspirit.

Latest Openwrt & aprx igate / digipeater
I have compiled new images for Openwrt – chaos_chalmer (15.05) with the latest aprx (phirephly 2.8.2-12)
See the download area 15.05. The instructions on how to put it on a ASUS router (or other router) have been updated as well.
The iGate is running in test as PA0ESH-10
APRX 2.8.2 – rev 12
APRX PhyreFly branch for OpenWrt
The latest firmware images for Openwrt & APRX have been uploaded on the 8th of Januari 2016. See the download section.
See Google groups for more info…. https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/aprx-software
To install just the package, do as follows….
ssh into your machine (normally something like sss root@(ip-of-machine)
Then change into the tmp directory and execute:
wget https://www.pa0esh.com/svn/aprx_2.8.2-stable_brcm47xx.ipk
chmod 755 aprx_2.8.2-stable_brcm47xx.ipk
opkg install aprx_2.8.2-stable_brcm47xx.ipk –force-downgrade
/etc/init.d/aprx restart
In case you still run the older router and cannot upgrade to 14.07 or later, use the aprx_2.8.2-stable_mipsel.ipk package in stead.
Soundmodem / direwolf audio settings & more
TOM, VA3TS sent me this note about setting up the alsa sound mixer
When adjusting volume with alsamixer, be sure to turn off the automatic gain control. This is tricky to do but it will solve the “volume too high” problem.
HINT: If you started Direwolf with it's coloring enabled and now all your console text is blinking, you can use the command "tput reset" to clear things out. Better to start with direwolf -t 0
OPENWRT – Barrier Breaker with APRX
In the download section are new images for openwrt + aprx – version 2.8.2-4 (Phyrefly branch)
They have been tested and are working, in conjunction with a TNC-X modem and a KFT 163 TX/RX. – see currently PA0ESH-10 on aprs.fi
I am still testing the trunk version – use both on your own risk.
My Musical Career
I started playing bass guitar since 2007, and currently play in LOFT and Sadsongs.
LOFT is a friends band, where practising is the main issue, and we perform once a year for friends and relatives.
Sadsongs is an Americana, blues, folk band and performs more regularly.
You can find us on the social media.
Here is some more video material as well….
APRS on a Raspberry with TNC-PI
Today I publisghed an article which details how you setup a Raspberry with TNC-PI to become an iGate / Digipeater, using aprx as software.
Hello everyone
Welcome at my new website. I have decided to change to Word Press in stead of Joomla and rebuild the site with the latest information.
Active topics are the download area, both for music related (e86) software and styles, as well as APRS related, with the emphasis on the Raspberry PI.
First of all the download section will be recreated. And slowly the other topics will follow
Have fun and drop me a note in case you have comments…
